Dr DisRespect is a controversial streamer who was banned on Twitch and his current net worth is $8 million.
Video game streamer Herschel Beahm IV goes by the online persona Dr DisRespect. According to the Celebrity Net Worth website, his current net worth is $8 million. His skills in battle royale games like PUBG: Battlegrounds, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and Fortnite helped him gain popularity on Twitch.
Working as the community manager for California-based video game developer Sledgehammer Games marked the beginning of Dr DisRespect’s video game career. While working for the company from 2011 to 2015, he joined Justin.tv, a website that broadcasts videos and later changed its name to Twitch. To pursue a full-time career in streaming, Beahm quit Sledgehammer.
However, he switched to YouTube after getting banned from Twitch in 2020. There, he continued to stream and amassed millions of views.
Dr DisRespect’s Career and Persona
Under the nickname Dr DisRespect, Beahm gained popularity on the live streaming platform Twitch. He played a variety of battle royale video games. He began with H1Z1 and then moved on to PUBG: Battlegrounds. Playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 helped Beahm achieve even more fame.
In early 2018, one of his streams attracted an almost record-breaking 388,000 concurrent viewers. He signed endorsement agreements with companies like Roccat, Game Fuel, and Gillette as a result of his fame.
Dr DisRespect signed a multi-year contract with Twitch in 2019 after first signing with Creative Artists Agency in the early months of the year. He remained well-liked on Twitch while playing Apex Legends, Fortnite, and Call of Duty: Warzone. But for unknown reasons, Beahm was banned from Twitch in the middle of 2020, and his channel was shut down.
He switched to YouTube after 42 days without streaming, where he continued his streaming and accumulated millions of views. Later on, Beahm discovered the cause behind his Twitch ban, but he chose not to reveal it. In 2022, he declared that his legal issue with the service had been settled.
Beahm’s character, Dr DisRespect, is renowned for being shrewd, arrogant, and cunning. He is more of an entertainer than a professional gamer. ESPN described him as a “WWE character in the competitive gaming world.” He wears a long-sleeved sports shirt, a tactical vest, wraparound sunglasses, and a black mullet wig when he portrays Dr DisRespect. Moreover, he nicknamed his mustache “The Poisonous Ethiopian Caterpillar.”
