In Dune Awakening, you will need to traverse the vast sandy expanse of Arrakis to get to many of your objectives. While encounters with other players or AI enemies are a possibility at any time, you’ll mostly go around scrounging resources. And, during these journeys, the game gives you the perfect way to pass the time through its radio system. You can listen to some classic tunes or learn more about the world or its different region when tuned on to the radio.

However, the game does a poor job of explaining how the radio functions. So, in this guide, we’ll explore how you can turn on or off the radio frequency in Dune Awakening.

How To Turn On Radio Frequency in Dune Awakening

You will need to open the Social Menu of the game if you’re trying to turn on the in-game radio. By default, pressing P on PC opens the social menu. Now, scroll through the different tabs in the Social Menu with Q until you reach the Communinet tab. Under this tab, you’ll find a variety of radio stations that you can turn on. These include:

Imperium Classics: This station plays tunes from the old games in the series, going back to 1992. You can also listen to some programs, which are based on the Dune books. From time to time, the station also broadcasts news about the faction war.

Atreides Radio: As the name suggests, this is the official radio station for House Atreides. You’ll be able to enjoy some tunes, propaganda about the faction war, and a variety of useful lore about this specific house.

Harvester Radio: This is a station that belongs to the commoners and the spice miners. It plays a host of entertaining music, ads, and more. Perhaps the most useful aspect of this station is that it broadcasts helpful survival tips and points you in the right direction when it comes to harvesting various resources.

Harkonnen Radio: This is the official radio station for House Harkonnen. Besides the usual music and entertainment broadcasts, this particular radio station also offers a ton of useful lore about House Harkonnen. You can also learn about the locations for faction representatives from this channel.

After you have picked which one you want to listen to, simply click on the radio station name. This will turn the radio frequency on.

How To Turn Off Radio Frequency in Dune Awakening

If you want to switch off the radio frequency that’s playing, you will need to open up the Social Menu, followed by the Communinet tab. Under this tab, click on the Radio Station: None option to turn off the frequency.

An interesting thing to note is that enemies or other players won’t detect you even when your radio is turned on. The sound does not alert those around you, so you can freely keep the radio on even when approaching an enemy base and still maintain the element of surprise.
