Crafting is one of the most important basics of Dune Awakening since the early game. Crafting takes up a bit of your time in the game, as you are normally crafting, gathering materials for crafting, and creating crafting stations. Plus, creating those crafting stations also takes more materials. For an MMO, there is a decent amount of crafting you can do, even in the beginning. Additionally, there are unique crafting stations for unique items in Dune Awakening. Here’s all you need to know about crafting in Dune Awakening.

Let’s start off small with how to craft in Dune Awakening. First, two of the most important resources for crafting are Schematics and Intel. These two help unlock recipes that enable you to craft more items, consumables, and uniques.

Schematics are one-time-use items that unlock unique items in the game. Intel helps unlock items from your research tree. Think of them as currency for your research shop. Schematics are divided into subcategories: Water Discipline, Combat, Construction, Exploration, and Unique.

They are further broken down according to their main categories. You can find Schematics throughout Dune Awakening’s dungeons and deserts, as well as purchase them from vendors.

Inside the construction tab are crafting stations that have various purposes. But first, let’s start with crafting. To get started with crafting, the research section in the menu is your friend, as you will get all the information about crafting from that tab.

Research helps you unlock more craftables, upgrades, and unique items. But you need to first construct various crafting stations to craft most of the items in the tab.

Crafting Stations in Dune Awakening

A basic construction kit is found at the beginning to help you. The construction tool obtained will help you create crafting stations and more. All of these crafting stations require a power generator to function. Here are all the crafting stations that you need throughout the game:

Basic Fabricator

These are the most fundamental aspects of crafting items because you can craft most of your early-game items, even some unique ones, from a basic fabricator. These items will help you set up your entire early Dune Awakening experience.

A basic fabricator costs 75 Salvaged Metal, found in the various chests and areas around the desert. A public fabricator is also available in various areas like Arakeen or Harko Village. However, these fabricators will not have storage, and there is a chance your items could be stolen.

Weapon and Garment Fabricators

Besides the Basic Fabricator, there are specific fabricators for each category of consumables, wearables, weapons, and unique items. The Weapon Fabricator, as suggested by its name, helps craft weapons and ammunition. All of these fabricators need to be placed near a Sub-Fief Console to work.

Also, note that the advanced versions of fabricators need more power to function properly, such as the Advanced Weapon Fabricator, which lets you build even stronger weapons later on, including rockets, which are all late-game weaponry.

The Garment and Advanced Garment Fabricators are similar to the Weapon Fabricators. They serve a single purpose: to craft armor and late-game armor, respectively.

Survival and Advanced Survival Fabricators

Being an MMO and a survival game, Dune Awakening has the grind ready for you. You can mine, scan, salvage, and loot almost everything in the game, as all of these items will be used in these Survival and Advanced Survival Fabricators.

These fabricators are used for health consumables, mining tools, and utilities that help you endure the harsh desert of Arrakis. These Survival and Advanced Survival Fabricators are very important, as they upgrade your literjon and healing items.

Vehicle Fabricators

These fabricators are used to create vehicles from their specific schematics. However, vehicles in Dune Awakening require a lot of rare materials that you need to grind a lot for. Still, these vehicles are quite necessary for traveling in the game.

The Vehicle Fabricator can craft Sandbikes, Orthinocopters, quads, and tanks. These vehicles have different purposes, from traveling to attacking.

Refineries

Specific materials and minerals require refineries to process them further into craftable items. There are currently three refineries in the game:

  • Ore Refineries: Convert various ores into ingots for material crafting. Currently, copper, steel, and iron ores can be turned into ingots from a basic ore refinery. Higher upgrades of this refinery help you craft more ingots from other uniques. The final upgrade yields more ingots from fewer ores, giving a huge buff in the late game.
  • Chemical Refineries: Help in the crafting of synthetic items in the game, such as fuel cells and silicon. Upgrades help you gain more resources with fewer raw materials.
  • Spice Refineries: Process Spice Sand into Spice Melange, a highly sought source of energy in the galaxy of Dune Awakening. You can sell or use Spice Melange for advanced crafts later. Upgrades help you produce more Spice Melange efficiently.

Imperial Permits

Imperial Permits or Orders are required to craft unique items in Dune Awakening. These permits are available for sale in the starting area of Dune Awakening or through specific quests. The Imperial Permits are also available in exchanges in the capital cities. All the craftable unique items are available at their respective crafting stations. The purpose of having more than one permit or schematic is for trading and sharing among your friends or guild members.
