Grow a Garden has been dominating not just the Roblox charts but the gaming world in general over the last couple of weeks. The simple farming simulator has taken the community by storm since its release on March 26, 2025. In the few months since launch, it has not only risen to the very top of Roblox, but its user stats seem to be rivaling AAA titles on Steam.
Created by The Garden Game, Grow a Garden has become a fan favorite around the world and has accrued over 3.7 billion visits on Roblox at the time of writing this piece. A brief look at the stats shows that the game has been averaging around 2 million concurrent players daily over the last two weeks. Not only is that an astounding number of players, it is enough to take down some of the biggest multiplayer games of all time, such as Counter-Strike 2, PUBG, and more.
Grow a Garden vs Counter-Strike 2 and PUBG: Roblox and Steam Charts Compared
According to RoMonitorStats.com, the game peaked at a staggering 8.7+ million concurrent users on Saturday, May 24. The game dethroned Blox Fruits and currently holds the record for the highest number of concurrent players (CCU) in a Roblox game. At the time of publication, the game had over 3.5 million concurrent players. That number is expected to rise over the weekend.
The reason that CCU stat is so impressive is because Grow a Garden is not just one of the most successful games on Roblox. It is also one of the most popular games in the world at the moment. Multiplayer AAA titles such as Counter-Strike 2 and PUBG on Steam are known to dominate concurrent user records, which is understandable considering they have game developers and publishers backing them up.

Grow a Garden Was Developed by a 16-Year-Old
With a 93% approval rating, Grow a Garden is currently miles ahead of its competition in terms of active users. At the time of writing, it has over 3.5 million players on Roblox. In comparison, Brookhaven RP is second and has less than 500K. What makes this feat even more impressive is that a 16-year-old reportedly developed the game alone, and it supposedly took only a “few” days.
Game developer Janzen Madsen revealed information about Grow a Garden’s development in an IGN interview. Madsen and his team partnered with the Roblox developer after the game was released. This is what he had to say about its development:
“The game was developed by a 16-year-old in a few days, and we saw the game when it was on about 1,000, 2,000 CCUs. And we just partnered with that developer, built in a live-ops plan, did some general updates to the game, and, pretty much, the rest is history.”
The game is only a few months old at this point and has already broken several records on Roblox. With upcoming events and updates already lined up, Grow a Garden still has the potential to grow. Maybe it can even surpass Fortnite’s world record of 15.3 million concurrent players from 2020.
