Deltarune: Card Castle Order Puzzle Guide

Here we will be discussing how to complete the four card castle puzzles in order to unlock treasure chests and a boss fight.

Deltarune is riddled with secret puzzles, secret rooms, and secret bosses in abundance. This just helps add flavor to the game, giving us a chance to put on our thinking hats and solve these mini quests in order to accomplish a sense of completion. This particular puzzle requires us to figure out the pattern using simple memory skills. 

In this article, we will be talking about how to complete the card castle puzzles in Deltarune Chapter 1.

Card Castle Puzzle in Deltarune Chapter 1

Chapter 1 Card Castle Puzzle 1

The first pattern will be seen in the field of hopes and dreams. To the north of the chess field lies this puzzle, just before you proceed to reach the card castle entrance.

There are four empty boxes in which you will input buttons. The board to the right gives us the following hint. ‘From the bottom, the order of our rooms in the card castle.’ So to do this, you will first have to visit the castle and then solve this puzzle. Let us give you the answer for this, but just for this time.

The third icon symbolises a switch button. Upon clicking this button, the icons on the bottom row will switch with their counterpart icon. For instance, the spade will switch to a club, the club to a spade, the heart to a diamond, and the diamond to a heart.

1. Diamond (Floor 1)
2. Heart (Floor 2)
3. Club (Floor 3)
4. Spade (King’s Floor)

To input the buttons, follow the steps below.

1. Input the diamond into the first box.
2. Click the switch button. The diamond will switch to a heart.
3. Input the diamond button into the second box.
4. Input the spade into the third box.
5. Click the switch button. You will now have a diamond, a heart, and a club.
6. Input the spade into the last box.

Once you enter the code, the path to a treasure chest will unlock. Here you will receive the Broken Key C.

You will find the next puzzle inside a scarlet forest. There will be six squares. Three symbols are present in the top row, whereas the bottom three are left empty. Our task requires us to fill the bottom three squares with the exact icons above them, which are club and heart club.

Now, at the bottom of the boxes are yet another three icons. You will be using these to fill the empty boxes with icons. The first round is very simple.

1. Approach the first spade icon and input it.
2. Approach the diamond icon and input it.
3. Approach the spade icon and input it again.
4. This will put on the board a spade, diamond, and spade.
5. Now with the reverse icon, all three icons will switch to club, diamond, and club. This will solve the first puzzle.

As soon as you finish the first puzzle, go to the right, and you will see the next puzzle. Over here, you will see just three boxes now, without any pattern to follow. To complete this, simply go more right. You will see two pathways leading down. Take the first path and take a left to see two patterns for the first two boxes.

Now exit this pathway and take the second path down, and you will find the last icon. Head back up to the boxes. Input the boxes in the following pattern.

1. Input spade into the first box.
2. Input diamond into the second box.
3. Click the switch button. Now you will have a club and a heart.
4. Input the spade into the fourth box.
5. Click the switch button. You will now have a spade, a diamond, and a club.

The gate to the right of the puzzle opens up. You can collect a dice brace from the chest in this area.

For the next puzzle, head further right from the puzzle you just solved. You will see yet another three boxes. The boxes on the top near the tree suggest that the pattern will have one red block, second a black, and third a red. There are three holes in the area. Approaching them will spawn NPCs who will give hints.

The first clue is that the first icon is a heart. The second clue hints that neither of the icons is similar. The last clue tells us that there are no clubs in the pattern. Taking these into account, follow these steps.

1. Input the diamond into the first box.
2. Click the switch button. You will have a heart now.
3. Input the spade into the second box.
4. Input the diamond into the third box.

This will open the gate right above the pattern. Once you cross it, the beasts who helped you will approach you. Due to rage about you not wishing them on their birthday, they trigger a boss fight with Clover.
