The Executor is one of the most powerful Nightfarers in Elden Ring Nightreign. While it doesn’t boast the sheer strength and DPS of the Raider or Wylder, the Executor does excel at one thing: Arcane. And much like in the base game of Elden Ring, Arcane is the most overpowered attribute in Nightreign. Arcane dictates the amount of elemental or status damage you deal to enemies.

Given that the Executor starts with a Uchigatana right off the bat, it can easily deal with a ton of damage to enemies and bosses via Bleed alone. Furthermore, Executor is also the best option for other elemental affinities in the game, including the incredibly overpowered Frostbite.

With the right set of Relics, you can turn the Executor into an elemental powerhouse, dealing multiple status procs simultaneously. Here’s a comprehensive guide on the best Executor build in Elden Ring Nightreign.

Executor is one of the best Nightfarers for solo runs, simply due to his affinity with elemental and status ailments. Due to the S scaling in Arcane, Executor can easily bleed out any enemy in the game with just a handful of attacks, in quick succession. By default, the Executor deals a ton of Bleed damage. However, due to how elemental affinities work in Nightreign, you can stack multiple statuses on top of Bleed.

For our build, we did just that. We have used the boss Relic from Caligo and Gnoster to imbue the starting armament (Uchigatana) with both Poison and Frost. This allows you to deal all three elemental affinities simultaneously while also accounting for the physical damage multiplier of the weapon.

Furthermore, this setup works for almost all the bosses in the game except Gnoster and Augur. As such, you can focus your runs on killing bosses and acquiring weapons only for their passive perks. Additionally, due to Caligo’s Relic, you get a passive defensive ability, where inflicting enemies with Frostbite allows you to cloak the Executor temporarily. The only downside of this build is limited HP. However, you can easily offset this limitation with passive buffs gained during Expeditions.

Additionally, we have also worked on Maris’s Relic to give a small HP boost to the Executor. However, you can replace this Relic with an Executor-specific one if you can deal with lower HP at the start of an Expedition.

How To Use the Best Executor Build?

Here are some tips to help you use the best Executor build efficiently:

  • With Executor, your primary battle strategy should be inflicting as much elemental damage as possible. While you can do it with the starting Uchigatana itself, having a second Katana is the best way to do it. Essentially, power-stance two Katanas and use the L1/LB combo to quickly stack multiple instances of elemental damage.
  • Do note that Executor, much like the Duchess, Ironeye, and the Recluse, is very squishy. While he does have enough HP to tank a few attacks, it’s not ideal to take damage as an Executor. Instead, the Nightfarer is best used as the team’s DPS. As such, don’t go rushing toward bosses with an Executor; instead, try to use blindside attacks to quickly bleed out the enemy/boss.
  • While Bleed is the best weapon the Executor has access to, it’s also quite efficient with other elemental statuses. As such, make sure you’re using weapons that not only deal Bleed but also have elements that can be helpful against the Nightlords.
  • Parrying using the Executor is one of the best aspects of the Nightfarer. If you’re playing solo, Executor’s ability to parry and counterattack can be a lifesaver in several situations. However, switching to the parry stance has a downside. Using the Golden Sword refrains you from inflicting enemies or bosses with elemental affinities. Furthermore, using the parry in co-op isn’t viable, especially against bosses with additional enemies surrounding them.

Additional Notes

While this build is most efficient in solo mode, you can also use it for multiplayer sessions. Note that with this build, you won’t find much use of Executor’s Character Skill and even the Ultimate Art. However, you can still use the active abilities for I-frames as well as a “get-out-of-jail-for-free-card.”
