A new Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics card is on the horizon. Interestingly, we anticipate that this one will be quite appealing to the budget segment of the market. Let’s check out the new and exciting developments.

Nvidia has been expanding its lineup extensively since the initial introduction of the RTX 50 Series. The lineup is now close to being fully unleashed, with several GPUs available at different price points. We have the flagship RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 GPUs at the top end, with the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 in the $550 to $800 range.

We also saw the release of Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8GB and 16GB GPUs, which were unveiled not too long ago. The RTX 5060 was also released last month, catering to the $300–$400 price point. AMD’s Radeon RX 9060 XT graphics card competes against the RTX 5060 Series, while the RX 9070 Series GPUs compete against the RTX 5070 Series. Now, let’s talk about the exciting potential entry of the RTX 5050.

The RTX 5050 has been discussed extensively over the last few months, with a lot of speculation on whether or not Nvidia will launch this GPU in both desktop and laptop variants. Shortly after the launch of the RTX 5060, it seems there was potentially a meeting between Nvidia and its board partners, during which a new graphics card model was discussed.

What To Expect From the RTX 5050 GPU?

As per internal sources of Videocardz, it is reportedly confirmed that Nvidia intends to launch the RTX 5050 GPU for desktops in July 2025. The GPU is expected to feature 2,560 CUDA cores with a previous-generation GDDR6 memory architecture. However, a more recent development via Benchlife states that the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 is actually going to feature GDDR7 instead. The source suggests that due to production concerns with GDDR6 memory, Nvidia is considering using GDDR7 memory instead.

With GDDR7 graphics and support for the latest technologies like DLSS 4, the RTX 5050 may surprise many with its performance. This new entry-level GPU could feature a 130W TGP (total graphics power) rating. Featuring the latest Blackwell architecture, the RTX 5050 will likely offer excellent efficiency.

There is a great chance this GPU becomes the go-to option for budget PC gamers and offers superb value for the money. It should also be the best upgrade option to play modern games on older PCs, especially those featuring last-generation processors.
