Collect three hidden music sheets, solve the Golden Piano Puzzle, and unlock the secret boss fight in Deltarune Chapter 4.
The fourth chapter of Deltarune continues the trend of featuring a secret boss hidden behind elaborate puzzles and treasure hunts. The Piano Puzzle is the first obstacle on your path to finding the secret boss of Deltarune Chapter 4 and obtaining the Magic Axe. To complete it, you will have to reach the Golden Piano Room, collect three music sheets, and play the correct sequence of notes.
How To Reach the Golden Piano Room in Deltarune
To begin the puzzle and get clues for its solution, you will first have to reach the Golden Piano Room. You can start from the study room and head through the top-left door, close to the boss’s room. Climb the bookshelf to your right and continue climbing the bookshelf on the next floor to reach the Golden Piano Room.
The plaque in the top left corner of the room reads, “Melodies three, there be. Two in the southern towers. One where gold strikes water.” These are clues to the location of each of the three music notes you need to find.

How To Find All the Music Sheets
Donation Waterfall
The first sheet is hidden behind the waterfall, where you can drop donations. Check the edges of the waterfall for the sheet. This sheet likely corresponds to the clue “where gold strikes water.”
Gerson Boom’s Area
Head to where you first met Gerson Boom. Look around the area and search it thoroughly to find the well-hidden music sheet.
Jockington Beard Room
The final music sheet is hidden in the room where the game displays the message, “Jockington grows the beard.” Head to the upper left side of the room to find the sheet and complete the search.
How To Solve the Piano Puzzle in Deltarune
Once you have all the music sheets, return to the Golden Piano Room. Each of the music sheets can be read to decode the correct sequence of notes that you need to play on the Golden Piano. Interact with the piano to display four directional buttons with a dot at the center. Select the button to press using your movement keys and play a note by pressing the confirm key (Z on PC). Play the following sequence to complete the Piano Puzzle:
- Up, Dot, Up, Left, Down, Dot, Right, Dot, Right, Down, Left, Dot.
Once you have played the final note correctly, a cutscene will play showing a secret door opening in the fireplace. Head through it to fight the secret boss and find the Magic Axe.
